Daisy Cross Bookmark

Name: daisy cross bookmark
Pattern: from www.tattingpatterns.blogspot.com
Materials: Cotton tatting/crochet thread, size 70
Method: Shuttle; rings
Time: 3 ½ hours

I found a picture of this bookmark and made up a pattern to match it, but after I finished the bookmark, I realized that Elaine made the pattern available on her website. Here is the bookmark as seen on Elaine's blog, and here is the pattern for the bookmark.

I absolutely love this pattern! It is incredibly simple; it uses only rings and can be made with only one shuttle. Once finished, the bookmark is very sturdy because the rings are all very close together and solidly joined. It will hold up very well in use. The daisy motives would also be great in many other tatted projects, like bracelets, headbands, or handkerchief edging. I foresee that it will be one of my standards.

Nom: marguerite croix signet
Modèle: de www.tattingpatterns.blogspot.com
Matériels: fil de coton, tailles 70
Méthode: navette; anneaux
Temps: 3 ½ heures

Nombre: margarita cruz marcador
Patrón: de www.tattingpatterns.blogspot.com
Materiales: hilo de algodon, talla 70
Método: naveta; anillos
Tiempo: 3 ½ horas

  2. Lovely cross and what a great idea putting down the thread, pattern etc at the beginning. I really MUST train my brain to do the same. You've set me a great example.

    1. I'm glad you like it! I think I chose the colors because they were already wound on bobbins, and I don't have many bobbins to spare yet...

  4. Just a lovely floral cross. And wow, there should be a lot of ends to finish off!

    1. Yes, it had a lot of ends. I'm brainstorming ways to make this daisy motif with fewer ends; I could try doing split rings on some of the petals to have a continuous thread, but there would still be separate pieces at the centers.
