Tatted Dragon

This pattern by Anne Bruvold ( http://nuperelle.net/drager/monstre/MinidragerEng.pdf ) is very popular. I was hesitant to try the split rings and single shuttle split rings in this project, so I procrastinated. Finally, I made it, and it only took a couple hours. It was really fun and easy.

I am dissatisfied with the variegated thread; I don't like the overall look, and I think that because the dragon is so small, it would be better in a solid color or in a thread that varies at a shorter interval. Also, I don't like the appearance of the chains; they would look better if pulled very tight. Furthermore, I made a pattern note to make a false picot at the ring on the top of the wing.

The dragon is very tiny, made in size 70 tatting thread. It measures about 7 centimeters wide. It started as just a motif, but then I thought it would be cool breathing fire and attached to a key ring, either to help display it or to give it a useful purpose. The pattern is very whimsical.

Je n’aime pas le fil bigarré car après le dragon étais complète, les couleurs semblent peu soignée. Je pense que, parce que le dragon est si petit, il serait mieux avec un fil d’un seule couleur ou avec un bigarrure d’un court intervalle. Aussi, je n’aime pas les chaines—ils ont besoin d’être tiré serré. En outre, j’ai fait un note de le modèle pour faire un picot faux à l’anneau sur le dessus de l’aile.

Le dragon mesure 7 centimètres; le fil est taille 70. Quand j’ai commencé, c’étais simplement un motif, mais puis j’ais pensé que le dragon serait cool si on respire le feu et était attaché à un porte-clés. Le porte-clés pourrait l’afficher ou de lui donner un but utile. Le modèle est très capricieux.

Tenía dudas de probar los anillos partidos y los anillos partidos con solamente una lanzadera o naveta (que palabra esta mejor?), así que me tardé en hacerlo. Finalmente, hice el dragón. Fue rápido, divertido, y fácil. 

No me gusta el hilo multicolor para este patrón. Porque el dragón esta chiquito, creo que sería mejor con un hilo de un color solido o diferente tipo de variación de color. También, no me gustan las cadenas. Necesito estirar las cadenas con más fuerza. Además, añadí una picot (este termino se refiere al bordeado) falsa sobre el anillo en la ala superior.

El dragón es muy pequeño; es de 7 centímetros de ancho. Usé hilo de talle 70. Al comienzo, era solamente un motif, pero pensé que quedaría bien como un llavero para hacerlo útil o solamente de adorno. El patrón es muy original y precioso.
